Service Overview

Interior Painting

Interior work touches the rooms you live with every day, so the finished result has to hold up to daylight and close inspection. We plan protection, prep, finish coats, and communication before work begins, and you help decide the sequence.

A.G. Williams is licensed and insured, and has painted interiors across Westchester County, the lower Hudson Valley, and Fairfield County since 1906.

How an Interior Project Runs

  1. Walkthrough

We walk the home with you and confirm rooms, colors, surface condition, and which spaces need the most protection, including where pets will stay while we work.

  2. Written proposal

You receive a written proposal, typically within a few business days, that separates prep, painting, and any optional repairs so you can compare choices clearly.

  3. Room-by-room work

You help decide the sequence so the rest of the home stays usable. A field supervisor meets you before work begins, and you have direct phone numbers for the field supervisor and crew leader.

  4. Walkthrough closeout

We review touch-ups and the finish together before the protection comes up and the rooms go back to use, and we confirm warranty terms and who to call later.

Why Interior Prep Is Most of the Job

Interior work touches the rooms you use every day, so the details are unforgiving. Careful masking, properly repaired surfaces, and crisp edges where colors meet are what make a finished room read clean instead of patchy. Sheen looks even because the right product is applied to a properly prepared surface. Most of that quality is decided before the finish coat ever goes on.

Interior Painting Questions

Can we stay in the house during the work?

Yes. The plan is built with you, so you can keep living in your home while the work happens. You help decide the sequence, occupied spaces are protected, and each day ends with the work area cleaned up.

What about our pets?

Tell us about your pets during the walkthrough. We plan each day’s work areas around where they stay, keep doors and gates in mind, and confirm the plan with you before painting starts.

Do you repair walls before painting?

Yes. Cracks, nail pops, and dents are patched and sanded, and bare areas are primed before any finish coat. Repair costs are itemized in the proposal, and you approve them before work proceeds.

Do you move the furniture?

We move and center furniture within each room and cover it completely. During the walkthrough we will flag anything fragile or unusually heavy and agree on how to handle it.

How long does a typical room take?

It depends on the room’s size, the amount of repair, and the number of colors and coats. The proposal lays out the expected sequence for your project, and the crew leader keeps you updated as work progresses.

How do you keep dust and mess under control?

Floors, furniture, and fixtures are covered before prep begins, sanding areas are contained, and each day ends with a cleanup. Rooms are left clean and usable every evening.

Who picks the colors?

You do, before the job starts. We help you settle sheen and finish choices, including where flat, eggshell, or semi-gloss makes sense, so the result holds up in each room.

Can you paint over wallpaper?

No. Wallpaper must be removed before the wall is painted. We handle wallpaper removal, wall repair, and repainting in a single scope.

Do you paint trim, doors, and ceilings too?

Yes. Baseboards, casings, doors, and ceilings are part of the scope, and the proposal itemizes each so you can decide what to include.

Is the work warrantied?

Yes. Every residential painting project is backed by the 5-Year Residential Paint Warranty. The terms are reviewed with you at the final walkthrough.

Can I finance the project?

Yes. Financing options are available; ask about 0% plans. Financing is offered through Wisetack, subject to credit approval and published terms.

What happens if something isn’t right after the job?

We come back and fix it. Standing behind the work is part of the job, and it is why families have hired us across generations.
