1904
A New Beginning in America
Arthur G. Ratsikas arrives from Greece and settles in the U.S., starting his journey in craftsmanship.
1906
A.G. Williams Painting Company is Founded
Arthur starts a painting company in NYC and adopts the surname “Williams” to reflect his use of Sherwin-Williams products.
1920s
Family and Business Growth
Arthur builds a home in the Bronx and expands the business, employing 12 people and opening two paint stores.
1930s
Standing by Employees During the Great Depression
Despite economic hardship, Arthur keeps all employees working, reinforcing the company’s people-first philosophy.
1946
Second Generation Leadership
George A. Williams, a WWII veteran, takes the reins and moves the company to Pelham, NY, to meet growing suburban demand.
1970s
The Third Generation Takes Over
Arthur G. and George P. Williams, sons of George A., join the leadership team and begin expanding services and operations.
1980s
Building a New Headquarters
The company outgrows its space and constructs a new facility at 411 Fifth Avenue in Pelham, NY.
2006
100 Years of Excellence
A.G. Williams marks a century of trusted service with its 100th anniversary celebration.
2008
Facing the Financial Crisis
After its best sales year, the company navigates through the challenges of the Great Recession without laying off its crew.
2010s
A Decade of Expansion & Recognition
A.G. Williams expands its premium offerings with the launch of Concrete Floor Coatings, providing durable and stylish solutions for both residential and commercial spaces. VP of Sales & Marketing Paul Viggiano is honored as a "40 Under 40" rising leader by Westfair Communications, recognizing his innovative contributions to regional business growth.
2020s
Honoring the Past, Building the Future
As A.G. Williams continues to grow under its third generation of family leadership, George Williams Jr. was recognized among Westchester’s “40 Under 40”. This decade also marked the launch of the Williams Wagon, a charitable initiative delivering pro bono painting projects to support those in need.
In 2024, we were honored to be inducted into the Westchester Business Hall of Fame, a milestone that celebrates over a century of dedication to quality, community, and craft. And with fresh ideas, deep roots, and a continued focus on innovation, the best is still ahead.
